Robert

I am kind of going back in time here. This posting is basically how I met Robert Thomas Fischer, my boyfriend of 2 1/2 years!

In the August of 2003, I moved from Jamestown, ND, to Moorhead, MN with my sister, Lacey.

I got a job in West Fargo, ND as a cocktail waitress at The Bordertown Bar and Grill. In November of 2003, in walked Robert. He was doing a construction project in Fargo. He was staying at Motel 8 right beside The Bordertown. At that time Robert was living in Winsted, MN. He moved from Bozeman, MT to MN. He got his Bachlors in Electrical Engineering at Montana State University. He moved to MN to figure out what his next move will be, and in the mean-time he was doing construction with his dad.

He walked in one afternoon after work for some wings and beer and we connected right away.

Over the Christmas Holiday Robert went to Helena, MT to see his mom and I stayed in Fargo working some shifts over the holiday week. Well one day over the holiday week, Robert's dad came in wearing a NDSU Bison cap! Robert told me nothing about moving to Fargo or going back to school. So I was pretty shocked and confused of why Tom, Robert's dad, was wearing a Bison cap? Well I guess Robert was going to tell me when he got back from Helena that he was planning to move to Fargo and get his master's at NDSU. Well Tom beat him to it! I was shocked and totally exited that Robert was moving to Fargo!! Robert was a little upset with his dad for spilling the beans! It was great and I will never forget the feeling I had when Tom told me the news of Robert moving to Fargo!

January 18th, 2004 was the official "boyfriend" and "girlfriend" status.

2004

Things were going great with us in 2004. In March, Robert took me to San Francisco! I absolutely loved it out there. It is one of my favorite memories! Again, I want to thank Rhonda and Jeanine for letting us stay at their home in Santa Rosa, and showing us the city!

In April I got a job as a file clerk for the Cass County State's Attorneys office and I was taking on-line classes for Paralegal. I probably wouldn't have got the job as a file clerk if it wasn't for the help of Trina Heimer! She was the bartender at the Bordertown and we came to be very good friends. She helped me get my foot in the door. I will always be grateful for what she has done for me. She is one of the few people out there that you can trust and know that she will be there for you no matter what. She is still one of my dearest friends to this day and always will be.
Miss and Love you Girl!

The summer was going great. On July 5th, Robert and I were on our way to Georgetown, MN to pick up a kitty! We found an ad in the paper for free 6-week old kittens. And of course I had to name him Frisco!

In August, Robert and I went to Helena so I could meet Robert's mom, Pam, and step-dad, Mark, for the first time! I was really nervous, but they were so welcoming! I had a good time with them. I will never forget when I went on a hike with Pam. Just Pam and I! I was so nervous I could not sleep that night before the hike! Well I had nothing to worry about! I had such a good time with Pam on the hike. I found out that we had some much in common and she was so easy to talk to! After the hike we went to the golf course to talk to Mark and Robert and see when they were going to be home. Pam I went to the store to pick some beer and rented the movie Kill Bill. It was a great day and I really enjoyed Mark and Pam's company.

January - July of 2005

In January of 2005, I got promoted! From being a File Clerk to a Legal Secretary at the Cass County State's Attorneys office!

June is when things were about to change for Robert and I! Robert applied for a job at the CA ISO in Folsom, CA. He got a call from the company and did a phone interview with them. Well it didn't go so well and they told him that he would be better for a different department in their company. So we were pretty bummed about it and kind of forgot about the whole idea about moving to CA. Well a couple weeks later he gets another phone call from the company and did another interview! That interview went pretty well because he was asked to come out to Folsom. In July, Robert flew out and so did I! We were on different flights and it was my first time flying by myself. A little scared, but I got through it. I waited for 6 hours in the Sacramento airport waiting for Robert's flight to come in.

We flew out on Thursday, July 7th. Friday was his interview. So when Robert's flight finally landed we went and got our rent-a-car and headed for Folsom! We stayed at the Hilton Garden Hotel and called it a night.

Friday morning was his big interview! It went rather well and after his interview we went for a drive around Folsom and went out to eat.

Saturday morning we got up early and headed for Lake Tahoe. It was both our first time going there!

Sunday we flew out and we were eager to hear to from company if he got the job or not!

Moving to CA!

A couple days after the interview in Folsom, we found out that he got the job!

In August 15, 2005 Robert moved out to Folsom, CA!

August 26, 2005 my good friend Liza got married.
